CHARDEP has a close rapport with the communities it works with and due to its committed work, gained credibility among Government departments and Non-Governmental Donor Agencies. Now, the organisation implements need based interventions in partnership with National and International Development Agencies and with the support of the Indian Government. Noteworthy among the work done so far are the following:

  
     
Livelihood Promotion
 Livelihood Promotion:
Dairy Farming, Coir Rope Manufacture, Rubber Slipper Manufacture with support from BAPS - Care International and Excel Crop Care Ltd.  		 
 
 
Disaster Relief
 Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation:
Post Tsunami Interventions with support from BAPS - Care International, CARE - India, DRDA, UNDP, NABARD and the Colachel Municipality.		  
 
Waste Management

Solid and Liquid Waste Management:
UNICEF supported this project in interim shelters for the Tsunami victims

Water and Sanitation:
UNICEF partnered the organisation in various activities like Eco Toilet Promotion, Drinking Water Supply and Monitoring and Menstrual Hygiene Management Trainings

  
 
HIV/AIDS
 HIV/AIDS:
APAC - VHS is supporting CHARDEP for Prevention Programme among high risk groups such as Female Sex Workers (FSWs) and Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) in 4 blocks of Kanyakumari District as well as for a Voluntary Counseling and Testing Centre (VCTC).		  
 
Women Empowerment

Women Empowerment :
1003 Self Help Groups have been formed among socio economically backward women. They have been provided trainings with support from Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation, DRDA and NABARD. Women entrepreneurship has been promoted by helping SHGs obtain Rs. 40.5 crore as loan from nationalized banks

 Micro Credit Programme
CHARDEP has commenced operations as a Micro Finance Institution (MFI). Funds have been mobilised from RMK, NMDFC, HDFC and Canara Bank		  
 
Animal Welfare
 Animal Welfare:
The Veterinary Department supports CHARDEP for vaccination of stray dogs.		  
 
Health
 Health:
Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project, with support from the World Bank enables CHARDEP to run an Emergency Ambulance Service in Killiyoor block and a Family Counseling Centre at Seynamvilai Government Hospital. 		 
 
Environment
 Environment:
The Ministry of Environment is supporting CHARDEP for spreading awareness on hazards associated with indiscriminate use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides and to promote planting of Neem trees.		  
 
Cultural Troupe
 Cultural Troupe :
CHARDEP has a well trained team for conducting theme based cultural programmes.The team routinely conducts programmes throughout Kanyakumari district.		  
 
Farming
 Farming Activities:
CHARDEP demonstrates eco-friendly and sustainable agricultural practices for the benefit of small and marginal farmers. CHARDEP has purchased 10 acres of land in the name of the organization at Atchankulam.
